Photos from the spring general meeting have now been uploaded! They can be viewed in the Photo Gallery. Thank you to all who joined us and a second thank you goes out to everyone who bought a bento box in support of our Haiti relief efforts! Thank you, Secretary Lynn Tsai for providing the meals!

In other news, Freshman Representative Ian Chen is now also acting as Service Chair, and Ted Chen is still around as our "Master Chef"!!

And now for the updates you care about most!

The Lunar New Year is in two weeks!! Our next event is

Tiger 湯圓 (Tang Yuan) Night
When: Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010
What time: 7:00PM-9:00PM
Where: Eighth Street Apartments Activity Room

Admission to this event will be free for members and $3 for non-members. Of course, you can always pay dues and become a member for $15. At this event, we'll be teaching you to make a traditional dessert served on the first full moon after the New Year. Again, I encourage you to express your enthusiasm by dressing up as a tiger in honor of the upcoming Year of the Tiger! Or at least wear red (or orange, haha). We'll see you there!

Chinese New Year at the CCC is not an event of our own, but we will be there selling lemon aiyu and mochi so please come out the weekend of the Lunar New Year!

Chinese New Year
When: Saturday, February 13th, 2010
Sunday, February 14th, 2010
What time: 10:00AM-4:00PM
Where: Culture Center of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Atlanta (near Dinho in China Town)
5377 New Peachtree Rd
Atlanta, GA 30341

Yes, it will be on Valentine's Day ... but Valentine's Day is meant to be spent with loved ones. And you do love the officers and members of TASA, don't you? Well, at least try to come out and support us! Plus, there will be many more booths selling various foods and booths selling cute crafts or trinkets. And of course, there will be performances!

Finally, independent team All Day Buffet plays its first intramural game this Thursday! Although the team isn't of our organization, a lot of our members, including Treasurer Bryan Yang, Events Committee member Charles Kuo, Freshman Representative Ian Chen, and Patrick Chen (to name a few ...), play on the team! The game will be at 10:00PM on Thursday night so if you can make it, show your support and help cheer them on!

Again, Tiger 湯圓 (Tang Yuan) Night will be this Tuesday in the Eight Street Activity Room; we hope to see you there!!

Photos from the Back-to-School Mixer with the Filipino Student Association - Atlanta, Sigma Beta Rho Fraternity Inc., Sigma Sigma Rho Sorority Inc., Society of Step, and the Turkish Student Organization have been uploaded! Although it was cold, it was still fun as the marshmallow and toothpick rendition of the Taipei 101 evolved into the Leaning Tower of Eiffel. Don't know what I'm talking about? Check out the event photos in the Fall 09 - Spring 10 section of the photo gallery.

Also, thanks to everyone who came out to the first general meeting! Hope that marshmallows and toothpicks part II was fun and that you got to know a few more people. Photos from the general meeting will be up shortly.

Yes, it sounds pretty cheesy, but there will be food and fun! And feel free to join in the excitement by dressing up as a tiger! ;D No really, I'm serious. I can guarantee that you will not be the only one.

And of course, we will be at CCC's annual Chinese New Year festival selling food and drinks.

Yes, that's Valentine's Day. But what better day to spend Valentine's Day than with the officers and members of the TASA you love dearly? A little pushy, maybe? But do still try to come out and support us!

Photos from the general meeting will be up soon. More details from our upcoming events will be posted then as well.
