Project Description:
Urban Remix is a project with a team of 4 where we hope to use the G1 Google phone (Android SDK) and integrate it with a PHP and MySQL website where users can record and upload sound (and possibly video) clips. These clips will contain GPS coordinates which will allow for tracking and mapping. Other possible attributes attached to the sound files inlucde accuracy of location, sound type tagging, file length, etc. The overarching goal of the project is to be able to gather sounds from various users and remix them either online or offline which an option to upload mixed files.
My part of the project deals primarily with the backend of the application -- information architecture and MySQL database structure. I will also be responsible for the initial pass on the front-end visual design.
